3D WORKS

In my initial college years, the school I went to taught animation more as a generalist major. I was obligated to learn 3D and 2D--No stop motion though, unlike my next college.

And I LOVED it! I made a lot of 3D stuff--in my spare and class time. 3D is actually a bit easier than 2D when it comes to making backgrounds. The light is mostly set up for you and the perspective is always accurate haha

Below are a few of my most significant 3D projects. In the future, I hope to revisit these files and/or experiment with Blender

I used the "ZOOTOPIA" station a the base inspiration for my final project (below), I believe. We had to make a whole set that was cohesive. The teacher didn't expect a fully-rendered world, but I had. I have always been ambitious

The face of the station and the rendered carnival behind it.

A bird's-eye view of the station and carnival.

Aside from the "paw-psicle" and carrot ferris wheel, I looked into reference for a lemming/rodent portion of the carnival.

I also had worked on a remaking of the "Hopps Family Farm" stall sometime earlier in the semester. After I finished it, I thought I would never use it again. But it actually came in handy; I put it into my final. (viewed below)

One of my midterm projects--to prepare me for my final--was to make a full set with at least 4-6  things. I was already thinking of "ZOOTOPIA" since it had just come out. I forget what connection led me to this design; I just remember I wanted to play with light rays...

The interior of the balcony room is full of lush greenery.

This room was meant to be a bad guy's lair for a "ZOOTOPIA" fanfic idea. The small table among all the suffocating plant life was meant to inspire claustrophobia while being among a living/rejuvenating/natural space.

The actual room. I didn't have time to finish my grand vision, so I had to tweak copies of plants and tighten the shot.

One of my first 3D projects. I had to rough-build this instrument. It is based on a violin, lute, and an Eastern instrument that I can't remember the name of right now.

Cooking time! I 3D modeled this for a personal idea. This was around the time I started debating what I would focus on in animation. My response was "food".

As a Ghibli fan, I watched "Kiki's Delivery Service" and "Porco Rosso" a bit during this college period. Amidst working on a short film about a cooking witch, I had an astounding dream about a small hole in the wall that served the BEST samosas made by Kiki. I woke up and sketched it immediately before beginning the modeling the next day. These are pictures of the restaurant's redesign.
